Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

In its most basic form, a discussion board provides a useful FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions). If several students come to you after a lecture and say that they did not understand a particular diagram or section of the lecture, and you realise you might expect several (or many) more, you could post the issue/question and its solution/explanation on the discussion board, providing the answer for all subsequent students without having to answer them individually. You will also be providing the answer ready for when a number of the students realise they did not understand that part of the lecture until they begin their revision in the summer term. Importantly, you will also be providing the information for the students who did not understand but did not dare to come and ask about it after the session.
